YACtots
YACtots is an exciting and fun introduction into Drama. It is designed for young actors aged 5-8. There is lots of fun to be had in these 90 minute sessions, helping build children’s confidence through drama games and gentle improvisation. Young Actors will create scenes through storytelling and use their imagination to build characters. Most importantly YACtots is a safe space for children to create, make friends and have fun whilst learning life skills that will stay with them into adulthood.
YACtots runs on Saturday mornings. The sessions are designed to really capture the imaginations of these young minds. Our YACtots director will take them on exciting adventures to space, the Wild West, riding magic carpets and they may even find themselves inside their favourite book or film.
Children are not required to audition for YACtots – all they need is commitment, a want for fun, play and a love for Acting. Our YACtots will work toward a performance each year.

Katie Gathercole
YACtots Director
After training as an actor of YAC herself, Katie has continued to work with the company over the last two years, producing a variety of stage productions across a multitude of groups.
She is also an actor for the YAC Players, responsible for bringing modernised productions of classic plays into secondary schools.
With her specialities including physical theatre and dance, and having trained with companies such as Frantic Assembly and Gruffdog Theatre, she is always eager to implement these aspects of performance into her work with the young actors, encouraging them to pursue expressiveness, playfulness and supportiveness, as an ensemble.
Katie is also a keen prop and puppet-maker, and has provided many of her own creations in previous YAC productions.
